Description
Here we have a replacement quickset star for the SEIKO 56 series movements. This is the part that commonly fails on this movement, which means you cannot set the day/date.It is designed for the 5606 LORD-MATIC and 5626 KING SEIKO and 5646 KING SEIKO movements which have the plastic quickset star installed. Some of these movements have a metal quickset star, which does not have the slipping problem, so you will need to check the part before purchasing.
The replacement part is made from stainless steel and is resistant to rust.
It is recommended you replace the crown gasket at the same time, as an old gasket will increase the amount of torque put on the quickset assembly, which could cause other issues. It is also best to check for any other problems in the keyless works during assembly, as the 56 series movements have a lot of parts in this area and any that are damaged could cause problems.
The part is intended to be installed by a professional watchmaker and requires
specialist
tools to fit. It cannot be fitted without disassembly of the entire quickset lever assembly. A staking set with a good range of stakes at a minimum would be required.
It will allow some amount of slip on the assembly as per the original part as a safety measure if the setting is used between 9pm and 4am. It is highly recommended that no day/date setting is done over this period however to prevent further wear.
THE ENTIRE LEVER ASSEMBLY IS NOT PART OF THE SALE,
YOU ARE BIDDING ON THE STAR ONLY
. THE IMAGE OF THE ENTIRE LEVER IS ONLY PROVIDED TO SHOW THE PART IN PLACE.
