Vintage Otagiri Kitty Kat Salt & Pepper Shakers Impressed Mark & Foil Label

Vintage Otagiri ceramic salt and pepper shakers. This cute set was made in Japan for the import company, Otagiri Mercantile Company based in New York and San Francisco. The business operated from 1954 to 1994 when it sold out to Enesco. OTC imported items from many factories in Japan. The items made specifically for OTC had the copyright symbol and Otagiri impressed into the clay as well as the foil label. This pair dates from the 1970's to the mid 1980's. The stoppers are missing. Replacements are available at hobby & craft stores. The sitting cat is 4 1/8" tall.  The reclining cat is 2 1/2" tall.  Very sweet pair!!
