Levin Watchmaker Lathe NEW UNUSED 20 pcs D 10 mm collet set 0412-03 1/64 - 5/16"

For sale is a brand new (never used) set of 20 Louis Levin & Sons D collets  (chucks / split chucks / wire chucks) for a watchmaker / instrument maker lathe.  These are the larger 10 mm type D collets,
covering 1/64 inch to 5/16 inch in 1/64th increments
.  This type of set is still offered by Levin for 00 - they are much more expensive than other brands due to the fact that they are hardened and precision ground.
This set is complete and in the original cardboard box with the part number for the set written on it: 0412-03.  Most collets are in plastic tubes with the part number printed on them; four collets are in crimped paper tubes with the size written on them.  Perhaps this set was ordered when Levin was transitioning from paper to plastic packaging.

The collets that are in paper tubes are obviously unused as the paper is crimped over the clear window.  For the plastic tubes, I have examined each collet - all collets are unused, with pristine black finish on the threads - see stereo microscope photo for an example - they have never been screwed into a draw bar.  This set comes from the southwest US, and the lack of humidity and original protective oil have kept them in outstanding condition.
It is extremely rare to see a complete set of these collets in new unused condition, although there are many listings for used collets that have been 'polished' up a bit, improving their appearance but destroying their accuracy.  In contrast, the new / unused set listed here is perfect for those who demand the highest precision from their machines.
