3M Scotchcast Closures 8980 Series use a gravity fill method of encapsulating and protecting copper cables in either an underground or direct buried environment. Six rigid body closure sizes are offered to meet various cable diameters and splicing capacities for the outside plant environment. Kits are packed with 3M(TM) High Gel Re-enterable Encapsulant 8882 for easy re-entry.
For the 8981 and 8982 closures, 3M(TM) Scotchlok(TM) Connectors are required accessories.
For the 8983, 8984, 8985, and 8986 closures, 3M(TM) Scotchlok(TM) Connectors, 3M(TM) MS(mu)(TM) Modules or 3M(TM) 710 Modules are required accessories.
Kit Contents: Upper and Lower Closure Halves, Strain Relief Bars, Spacer Tubes, DR Tape, Scotch® All Weather Telephone Vinyl Plastic Tape 88T, B Sealant Tape Strips, 3M(TM) Scotchlok(TM) Shield Bond Connectors, Sheath Scuff, Spacer Web, Cable Ties, Cover.
